When the Apostle Peter wrote some 2,000 years ago to the churches, he wrote of things which were then present and of things that shall be and no more appropriate for today was his fear that the faithful would be made merchandise:
2 Peter 2:3
And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you:
No more truer are Peter’s warnings from the past than this verse. Preachers come in many forms, but most folks expect that they will act responsibly and according to a standard of morality. Some like the prosperity preachers of today have tossed aside any pretense of humility exposing their greed in the form of the “prosperity gospel.” Prosperity preachers make no bones about their intentions; they want to be rich, unfortunately, at the risk of their same congregations. Any attempt to hinder their plans at greater riches can easily be met with the power of the purse. Others are more subtle hiding behind feigned humility and meekness. Such appears to be the case with the Reverend B.R. Hicks, who heads up Christ Gospel Church International. When confronted with the website that set out to expose her, Hicks and her lawyer would have none of it, threatening legal action. But instead a Complaint was filed against Hicks and her lawyer.
I hope that you do good in this. We really need to stop all of the non sense that this church is feeding to people. That includes my family
